Mission Statement
The Achievement Academy will enhance the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of all its students, while servicing each student’s unique needs and abilities within a safe and supportive environment. Stakeholders will become a part of a learning community that reflects high achievement; a learning community where staff and students come together as a community of life-long learners and a learning community that through collaborative planning includes all stakeholders, produces students who are productive, self-sufficient members of society. This vision will foster a sense of responsibility, self-esteem, discipline and respect in all stakeholders.

The Achievement Academy offers an alternative education program for  current students This program addresses the district's commitment to develop the learning potential of every student to the fullest extent. The Achievement Academy was established to meet the needs of those students who, for a variety of reasons, have difficulty within, or have rejected, the traditional school program.

  To provide special support and assistance to help identified students develop more responsible patterns of behavior.

·         To assist in achieving the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards, increase the graduation rate while reducing the drop-out rate at Lakewood High School.

·         To remove students from disruptive influences, while creating classrooms that are productive, orderly and safe.

·         To increase student understanding of the fundamental codes of conduct and compliance with Lakewood High School's disciplinary policies and procedures in order to achieve a school climate that is conducive to learning.
